Increased amounts of mast cells can be seen in Mast Cell Disease, parasitic infections, and allergic reactions.
Appearance
Mast cells are larger than other white blood cells with a round nucleus. The cytoplasm is filled with dark blue granules.
Lookalikes
Mast Cells are larger and more granulated than basophils but with similar function.
