Hyaline casts are the most notable element in this urine with about 20-30 per low power field seen. Due to the low refractive index of hyaline casts, phase microscopy can greatly aid in quantitation. Between 0-2 red blood cells and white blood cells can be seen on high power field which coincides with the positive blood and leukocyte esterase on the chemistries, respectively. 2+ bacteria is also noted.
