Spermatozoa may be seen as a contaminant following recent sexual activity in both sexes. This may be significant in cases of suspected assault.
They are usually a contaminant but can also be seen in men with some genital diseases.
Appearance
Spermatozoa have a small, bulbous head with a long, thin tail that may detach.
They are usually non-motile by the time of review.
