Cystine Crystals are found in acidic urine. They are soluble in hydrochloric acid and alkali. They are insoluble in boiling water, acetic acid, and alcohol.
These crystals are found in urine of patients with congenital cystinuria.
Appearance
Cystine crystals are clear, colorless hexagons that may stack. Birefringence under polarized light is weak or absent but may be more apparent when crystals are stacked.
